We’ve created a custom online order form for a Newcastle home fruit and vege delivery business. We looked at the existing shopping cart systems but they were too complex and made the ordering process time consuming.

Essentially the ordering system is a multi-category form with quantity fields for each product, the product name and price. Before completing the order the customer can check the total price. Once the customer is happy they confirm their order, fill in their delivery details and submit. It is designed to be simple to use and fast to complete, no adding to cart or any of that stuff that you normally get with a shopping cart.

The postcode checker is a great tool. If someone wants to check that delivery is available in their area then they put in their postcode and if it is validated and order form displays. If they are outside the delivery areas then a form requesting their details shows to register interest in future delivery run expansions.

Behind the scenes the site admin business owner can add, remove or edit products, categories, add testimonials and view orders for printing.

The live site where this website ecommerce system is in use is:

www.freshtoyou.net.au

On the homepage you have the order button, the form field for checking the postcode. A summary of the products that are on special and the testimonials box that shows a random testimonial each time the page is refreshed.
