Virus and spyware cleaning
Computer fix and repair services that we often do include:
- removing spyware etc we can do extensive scans to clean up viruses and spyware plus a harddrive cleanup of temporary files and startup items to speed up your computer.
- removing fake antivirus programs, it’s dreadful but these are so common and they try to blackmail people into giving credit card details and they popup all sorts of fake warnings, sometimes they steal your passwords, send out spam, all sorts of bad stuff.
- replacing missing or damaged windows files with symptoms like, windows getting stuck before the desktop, programs that slow windows down so much that you can’t do anything, various random errors and all sorts of stuff like that.
You would think that after years of computer repairs we would have seen every problem but there’s always something different that is happening to baffle me. Thankfully we have the terrific resource of the internet where we can find answers to just about any problem.
If you would like to try a bit of self-help for these sorts of issues I’d recommend:
- malwarebytes – this is great because you can install it in windows safe mode
- super anti spyware – sometimes it picks up files that malwarebytes misses
- ccleaner - gets rid of temporary files and other junk you don’t want on your computer
- microsoft security essentials – is a pretty good antivirus and antispyware program
